This article discusses effective ways of developing students’ speech in teaching the Kyrgyz language in primary school. At present, the development of students’ speech in Kyrgyz language lessons in primary school is one of the main tasks of education. Forming correct, accurate, and coherent speech in children is the foundation of their future learning. Speech is a reflection of thinking; therefore, a child’s speech development is directly connected with their intellectual development. To develop vocabulary, coherent speech, and grammatically correct speech in primary school students, game-based methods, question-and-answer activities, work with illustrations, and interactive methods play an important role. According to specialists, the use of modern, practical, and systematic approaches in developing students’ speech skills is effective. Speech development lessons expand students’ vocabulary and make their speech richer and more meaningful. Therefore, learning new words, working with synonyms and antonyms in primary school helps expand vocabulary, form the ability to express thoughts correctly, and develop effective communication skills.
